Sad as it makes me to admit it, I don't actually do much writing anymore. I wrote pretty much obessively throughout elementary and half of high school, but somewhere between grade ten and grade twelve, and stopped almost entirely. Now, about the only writing I do is during NaNoWriMo, and even that has petered out as university steals my life.

Still, it's something I enjoy. I roleplay via MSN with my friends with a decent amonut of regularity. Fantasy is my first love, both with what I read and what I write, so nearly everything I have a hand in creating has some semblance of magic. As I learn more about technology, that shows through too, since more stories and characters are devolping steampunk and computer-nut tendancies. Some of my friends are also interesting in science fiction, so I dabble in that too, but more on the roleplay side, and not so much stories.

I never wrote fanfiction (or if I did, I never saved it). I have a hard time getting in the head of a pre-existing character, and if I did try it, they probably wouldn't remain in character very long. However, this also means the world was spared all the bad fanfiction I could have written. -grin-

I still dream of being able to write epic fantasy series, like Wheel of Time, even as I realized that shorter, one-shot novels are both more enjoyable and easier to get into. I'd love to be published, but I doubt I'll ever put the work into actually making it happen. When I write, it's primarily for myself, since I hate to edit and rarely revise anything beyond a first draft. I assume I write a pretty good first draft, since people seem to enjoy my writing, and I haven't edited any of it beyond spelling and grammar!

As the inspiration takes me, I still work on stories, but I expect my coding output will drastically outweigh my writing output shortly, and my dolling will still be more common than my stories.
